Description:

Tobacco pipe in meerschaum with constricted cylindrical bowl, accentuated bowl opening, weighted base with lenticular underside and ascending stem widening to cuff, a kind of rat tail along the underside of the bowl base. Bowl around three circular medallions in which a horseman with sword or pistol goes to the right, ornamental tessellation with beads in turquoise set along the base, stem bottom on a dotted deepened fond vine leaves with flowers. Originally worked silver valve cover with stones and flower-shaped button, silver cuff ring with stem plate and stem holder and bail eye, end engraved "MARIENBAD IM JAHRE 834". Silver bowl ring stamped silver hallmarks.
