Pipe makers' business cards

Over the years, the Amsterdam Pipe Museum has made contacts with numerous pipe factories and individual pipe makers. Some of those companies have been closed for years, others are still operating. By always keeping the business cards - as part of the museum's documentation files - an interesting collection has been created.

We see that some makers only present themselves with their name, others proudly show their store or products. Only in a rare case is the card the result of some clumsy tinkering on the computer, but usually it has good styling. In exceptional cases we even see a beautiful graphic design, no doubt made by a pipe maker with a good sense of design.
