Description:

Tobacco pipe made of meerschaum with high cylindrical Hungarian bowl, flat outstanding bowl opening, flat lenticular base and rising stem with disc shaped stub. Bowl front standing general with high hat with plume, the left hand in the side, behind him a riding horse, regiment mark with TI or 71 on the deck under the saddle. Stub stamped in circle factory mark initial "S", on the ground line left below carved initials "ME". Original mounting with silver valve cover with drum with thin bars, button in the centre, s-shaped clamp spring. Silver cuff ring with a contoured rim and locking ring. Lid internally paper label with hand written collection number "22".

Comments
Een voor die tijd modern product met zeer vakbekwaam snijwerk dat de vorm intact laat maar toch buitengewoon treffend is utigevoerd. Ook de zilvermontage getuigt van klasse door eenvoud.
