Description:
Two-piece brass mould for tobacco pipe with oval bowl, heel and straight stem. Bowl on the left engraved Mercury with wing hat and money pouch, seated on bags of merchandise, on the left on horizon line a sailing ship. Bowl to the right Neptune as a stream god. Stem engraved band with shells followed by winding branch with inscription KOOPHANDEL EN ZEEVAART GOED IN STAND" (sales trade and marine in good order), "DAT IS DE BLOEY VAN HET VADERLAND" (that secures the flourishing of the nation), "WILLEM BEGEER", "FABRIQUER IN GOUDA". Mould bowl side hammered shape number "4/1" and old engraved shape number "185". |

| De pijp in deze vorm geperst wordt niet vermeld in de lijst met geëxposeerde voorwerpen op de tentoonstelling in Haarlem in 1825 en moet dus van na die datum zijn. Lengte 29 duimer formeel 75,4 centimeter. |
