Description:

Tobacco pipe made of slip cast clay with hollow-walled trumpet shaped figural bowl, without heel and straight push in stem. Bowl stylized head of General De Gaulle with distinctive large nose and flat cap with flap on the front. Stem underside incised signature "GEM A 3/40". Art glaze in brown-green colour. Originally black hard rubber mouthpiece with slightly curved flattened end and knot. Stem left intaglio "GEMA".
