Description:

Snuifdoos, zogenaamde snuff mull van buffelhoorn in hoornvorm met licht gebold hoornen deksel. Aan de scharnierkaken op het deksel twee bladeren en een distel, cirkelvormig schildje waarop een monogram. Bruin hoorn, de rand afgezet met zilveren band waarin opschrift "DIED AT ST. BOSWELLS, JOHN YOUNGER, 19TH JUNE 1860 AGED 75 YEARS". Schildvormige applique met graveerwerk "PRESENTED TO JAMES McDONALD BY WILLIAM SON OF THE POET20TH SEPTR. 1860".
