Description:

Tobacco pipe made of porcelain with a bag-shaped bowl, round underside without heel and rising stem slightly widening towards the end. Bowl on both sides in subtle relief of a peacock with spread wings holding a cartouche with napkin work on both undersides and foam heads along the top and bottom edges, bottom c-volutes circulating below. Painting in multi-colors of a flower bouquet on the front of the bowl, scatter flowers on bowl and stem, the cartouche with gold leaf heightened. Original mounting with gold-plated silver flap cover with Louis XV-style floral motifs on the flat flap, cuff assembly with two rose branches on the flat cuff plate in relief, also gold-plated. Associated stem of buffalo horn with a wooden snake that runs around the stem, the head at the stub with eyes of pearls, buffalo horn mouthpiece with flattened bite.
