Description:
Brass tobacco box with elongated shape with beveled corners, the raised sides bent, flap cover with single-hinge and closing hook. Lid top Prince William III on horseback with marshal staff in the left hand, a beret on the head, the area filled with branches with scalloped leaves. Bottom to the left going down to the left crowned lion the sword in the raised right claw, a cluster of arrows in the left, surrounded by leaves. Internal shapeless cylindrical pipe stopper. |

| De mal voor de doos is dezelfde als APM 20.713, de deksel is echter gemoderniseerd. Overigens zijn beide dozen gegoten van een reeds sterk gesleten prentmodel. |

| Georg Alfred Brongers, Van Gouwenaar tot bruyère pijp. Amerongen, 1978. p 60. Twee kantige doosjes werden in 1972 geborgen uit het in 1667 vergane uit Genua afkomstige schip de Santo Christo de Castello. Het schip had in Amsterdam geladen en verging bij Mullion Cove in Cornwall. Ook deze kantige doosjes hebben een meegegoten miniatuur, de ene een dame met breedgerande hoed, de ander een ruiter te paard, (...). |
