Description:
Large-sized stone tobacco pipe with an elbow shape with a straight four-sided bowl, a flat underside transforming into a straight four-sided stem, the stem side of the bowl and the top of the stem slightly rounded. Smooth polished jasper conglomerate with uneven surface. Stem paper label with red border with typewriter letters "FOUND NEAR NACHOOCHEE GEORGIA NO. 563" and with pen underneath number of Brongers "2.2 1218 (?)", A second label with oval shape with red border with collection number of Petri "PC 19 6 ". |

| De Nacoochee Mound is een prehistorische aarden mound aan de oever van de rivier de Chattahoochee in White County, in het noordoosten van de staat Georgia. Nacoochee is afgeleid van een Cherokee woord dat avondster betekent en is een gebied waar lang menselijke bewoning plaatsvond zowel in de Woodland als de Mississippi cultuur tussen 100 voor Christus en 1500 na Christus. |
