Description:
Tobacco pipe in meerschaum with a high Hungarian bowl, lenticular bottom without heel and ascending stem with disc-shaped stub. Bowl around four panels with Gothic window motif filled with palmette at the bottom, fantasy tracery above. Original mounting with silver lid, the four lips of the lid ring close in the undecorated spandrels that make the arched windows, lid itself with Byzantine crown shape on which three balls and knob with fluted edge. Two silver hallmarks on lid ring. Silver stub ring with locking eye. Lid internal label with handwritten collection number "8". |

Eerste kwaliteit meerschuim met een maximale porositeit en zeer licht van gewicht en tamelijk dunwandig. Representatief voor de wonderlijke hoge ketels van die periode. |
