Description:

Tobacco jar of cast iron with square shape on legs, flat lid with relief. The four square walls are identical with a standing man playing the violin in a cartouche framed by c-volutes, a cape over the shoulders, the ornaments framed to the edges with narrow relief bands. Lid central in high relief two card-playing men sitting on three-legged stools at a round table, one with a brimmed hat, the other with a pointed cap, holding a card on the back, outside the medallion on the lid graceful asymmetrical volutes and leafwork. Internally an original square lead inner jar with lead inner lid with aker-shaped brass handle.
