Description:

Porcelain tobacco pipe with figural bowl, without heel and straight stem widening to a stub. Bowl head of a woman with turban with purple and egg yolk striped fabric, embellished with Turkish brooch with green decorative stone on the front and double pearl necklace along the edge, earrings and double pearl necklace around the neck with a flat bow at the bottom. Stem light folds in green closed with a c-volute on both sides of the stem and a shell motif at the top and bottom of the stem. Decoration heightened with gold leaf. Original mounting with gilded brass valve cover with six flutes and stem ring with locking eye. Inside underglaze blue crossed sabers.

Die Ausführung ist nach einem ursprünglichen Meissener Modell um 1742 geformt und in mehreren Kopien von anderen Porzellanmanufakturen erhalten. Ein vergleichbares Angebot findet sich z.B. im "Preis-Courant von Tabaksköpfen und Abgüssen in der Königl. Sächsischen Porzellan-Manufaktur in Meissen" um 1825.
