Description:
Tobacco pipe made of meerschaum with high cylindrical Hungarian bowl, flat bottom and up going stem with stub. Bowl carved seated to the right a pipe smoker in tightly cut costume, three dogs behind him. Original mounting with silver valve cover with worked edge and s-shaped clamp spring and silver cuff ring with locking eye. Stem buffalo horn inlaid with chequered mother-of-pearl on the top a mother-of-pearl disc. Original locking cord with two tassels. |

Comments
Opvallend bij deze betrekkelijk vroege Hongaar is de verontreiniging in het meerschuim die de pijp een onverwachte uitstraling geeft totaal anders dan de maagdelijk witte steen. Toch gaat het om een exclusief product, daarvan getuigt ook het bijbehorende roer. Vgl. APM 17.080 in sterk vergelijkbare stijl uitgevoerd. |
