Description:

Tobacco pipe made of porcelain with figural bowl, without heel and up going stem, widening to thin band-shaped stub. Bowl head of a Turk with moustache, beard in two points and turban. Bowl opening stem side two holes. Stem end at the cuff four holes. Painting in natural colours, turban with gilded motifs, stem leaf gold. Mould in three parts.

Identiek exemplaar: veilingcatalogus Drouot, 1983, lot 199. 1 tête de pipe en porcelaine (hauteur 10 cm) représentant "un sultan barbu au turban blanc et or, probablement Jacob Petit". Superbe et rare. Opbrengst FF 2600.
