Description :

Tobacco pipe of meerschaum with a cylindrical bowl with a protruding bowl opening, flat base without heel and ascending stem with stub, a volute as a connection between bowl and stem. Bowl to the front hand-carved mask head of a man with an open mouth from which a source emerges, in a frame of Louis XV motifs with leaf work and c-volutes on the bowl base and stem continuous in two cartouches. Connecting band between bowl and stem with double c-volutes with leaf motifs. Original silver lid with double drum and surrounding printed embossed bands, clamping spring as closure. Silver stub ring with locking eye. Original stem in ivory with oval-shaped thickening with diamond motif and button with ornament, loosely wound with copper wire and flattened ivory bite with two buttons.

Commentaire
Prachtige ornamentiek die kunstzinig is gesneden en op gepaste wijze om de ketel en steel sluit. Het ivoren roer komt pas tot zijn recht wanneer de pijp doorgerookt is.
